During my exploration of the Turkish countryside in the Izmir province, where they originated, I was fascinated by this very large, rustic Odemis pot. Initially designed to hold and preserve dry goods such as grains and rice, this grand container has aged beautifully over time, carrying a rich history within. Each crack and imperfection in the aged clay displays unique and beautiful markings from years of use. This gorgeous Odemis pot is more than just a container; it is a vessels of history, a vessel of tradition and a vessel of a bygone era waiting to be cherished once again.
