Description
The Sicilian Quartara, also known as “u bummulu” is a ceramic container, that has ancient peasant origins. It has 2 large handles in the upper part and was used to store water or wine. The Quartara is also a traditional Sicilian musical instrument. Blowing into the vase emits a sound, traditionally used in Sicilian folk music.
